The Moscow Metro is a web of rail lines buried deep under the city. You can get to pretty much anywhere in a minimal amount of time - if you know where you're going and which trains to take. The trains come very quickly. The trains are old, but they're in great shape.

Some of the stations are plain-Jane, and some are reminiscent of 1960s ceramic-tiled bathrooms, but some of them are gorgeous, decorated with mosaics and other artwork.
