Sailing Atlin Lake - Day Three (Sloko Island to Llewellyn Inlet)

Again, the morning dawned lovely, warm, clear, and calm.

Without wind, we were back to motoring. It's nice to have the choice: A little becalming wouldn't prevent us from reaching our destination.

Our plan for the day was to explore Llewellyn Inlet and hike toward the Llewellyn Glacier. Llewellyn Inlet was stunningly beautiful with its bright green water (the result of glacial sediment suspended in the water) and the numerous waterfalls plunging down the mountains into the deep, deep water.

We saw bits and pieces of the glacier from the water.

And, of course, there are the smaller ice-caps and glaciers up on the mountains.

Having found the trailhead into the glacier, we tied up onshore, met with other glacier-bound hikers, and ate a good lunch.

When all that was done, it was time to begin our hike.

But you're going to have to wait for the next entry to see those pictures...
