The snow is fast!

I couldn't believe it when I looked at the weather and it said it was -1^oC outside. Wasn't it -40^oC a couple of days ago?

I generally don't mind the colder weather but it makes some winter activities a little more difficult. I've only been able to take the kicksled out a half-dozen times since I got it because, when it gets really cold out, things just don't slide on the snow. Now, with the sun shining and the temperature just below freezing, I couldn't pass up the opportunity to soak up some rays and see what the kicksled is like when the snow is a little "greasier".

In the cold, a push of the kicksled would give me a little more than a foot of slide. Today, on the hard-packed road, I got almost ten feet of slide with one push and it was FAST!

I can't wait to hook Nanuq and the neighbour's dog up to the sled to see how fast we go then!
