Where does it come from?

Where does it come from? Where does that overwhelming drive to seek out and explore new places come from? Is it genetic? Is it learned? When does it all begin?

My dad loves hiking. I love hiking. And now, if her repeated attempts to walk over the roughest, wettest patches of snow blocking the path out of our back yard are any indication, Jade loves hiking.

I don't know where the need to hike comes from, but I know one thing for sure: It has begun.
