In one week.

Jade's seizures were getting so bad, that she was unable to look at me without having one. I cannot explain how upsetting it is, as a father, when your child is unable to look adoringly into your eyes for more than two seconds (I understand this never happens when children reach their teens, which is why I want to savour it now). We could not have a conversation or play games because the seizures kept interrupting her thinking.

How much things have changed in just a week.

Jade hardly had any seizures today, including the dreaded drop seizures (none of which sent her to the ground). Most of the time, she was in a great mood, and the one bout of whining she had this afternoon had nothing to do with seizures. She was active! Talkative! We had a conversation! She looked adoringly into my eyes for nearly a minute!

The ketogenic diet is working!

It's so wonderful, I can hardly believe it!

Please excuse me. I'm having trouble typing. Every time I think about it, this strange liquid keeps pooling in my eyes, obscuring my vision.

My eyes started filling up when I read your post. I so hope you'll be past the worst of this experience!

Hooray! I'm glad to hear that it is working and you have your daughter back. Also, I just want to say how fortunate Jade is to have such wonderful and loving parents.

Michael, I think collectively we could create a swimming pool full of tears! You must know by now how many people you have rooting for you and your family, so any good news is something we all cheer about. Here's hoping that as each day passes, things only get better and better.
