A bunch of unrelated stuff.

Jade seems to be feeling a lot better, though I'm not feeling at my best. It's tough to get work done when you have a cold and have to keep an eye on your very energetic one-year-old.

Yesterday, I received a letter from the Economic Developer's Association of Canada. I'm going to be awarded the Certificate in Economic Development at their annual conference in September in Saskatoon. Cool! One step closer to receiving my professional designation.

Today, I received a DVD from the good folks at On the Road Again. It was the episode with Dennis Deneron - the Reluctant Chief of Trout Lake and all-round good guy. Since I missed it when it originally aired, it was really nice of them to send me a copy. They did a great job with it, too!

On Monday, at Big Band practice, we tried a couple of new pieces. One was composed by a trumpeteer that I got to meet once in Ottawa. The other one was composed by Neil Yorke-Slader. He was once the music teacher at the highschool across the highway from mine. I thought that was pretty neat.
